GLOBAL WARMING!

1.- What is global warming?
Global warming is the current rise in average temperature of Earth's oceans and atmosphere. Scientist affirm that this is caused by human activity and green house gasese, such as desforestation. The most ovbious results are visible in the Artic.

2.-What is the proces involved in the greenhouse effect?
The "greenhouse effect" is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a green house.
First, sunlight shines onto Earth's surface, where it is absorved and then radiates back into the atmosphere as heat. In the atmosphere, "greenhouse" gases trap some of this heat, and the rest escapes into space. Most of greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere, the more heat gets trapped.

3.- What signs warn us about global warming?
Some of ovbious signs are in the Artic (where rising temperature s and melting ice are dramatically changing the regions unique landscapes and wildlife) as well as people's lives and livelihoods. Across the globe, other early warming signs include meeting glaciers, shifting ranges of plants and animals, and the earlier onset of spring. It's changing the rhytmics of climate that all living things have come to rely upon.

4.- Can you quote another terms for global warming?
Fear Mongering, climate change, across the globe, melting glaciers, earlier onset of spring and desforestation.

5.- Watch the video and explain this idea: Global Warming: panic or reality?
It's reallity because there are some many science that demostrate us thats true and we can see it. And it's panic because we are destructing the planet and we can delete it.

THE BIG QUESTION
WHAT CAN WE DO TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING? SUGGEST FIVE IDEAS
1.-Reduce, reuse and recycle.
2.-use less heat and air conditioning.
3.-Change a light bulb
4.-Drive less and drive smart
5.-Buy energy-efficient products
6.- use less hot water
7.-use the "Off" switch
8.- Plant trees
9.- Encourage others to conserve.

Magazine: Literary comics

1.- Bram Stoker's: DRACULA

-Bram Stoker
1847-1912
Mysterious and tormented: that's what we know  about Bram Stoker, the creator of Dracula. And, indeed, that is how he must have been to imagine such a bloodthirsty creature. 104 years later, the author is perhaps not so well remembered but Dracula is certainly still as famous as ever. It's a case of a character that has "eliminated" his author!
Oscar wilde said: "the finest novel of the century!"

THE FORGOTTEN WRITER.
Who could have imagined such a thing?
What feverish, tormented, creepy imagination could the bloodiest novel of all times have come from? Who was the inventor of Count Dracula, the famous vampire that would end up terrifying the whole of England and the rest of the world?

-His name was Bram stoker, a practically unknown writer when his novel appeared in London in 1897. Dracula is his creation, the creature who has even managed to "vampirise " his author by becoming more famous than the man himself.

Dracula, the character, is now 115 years old, and is still going strong. The "number one vampire" regulary decides to come out of the dark to appear on TV, in comics or in the cinema (there are 80 films about this "adventures"!). What a great success this was for the obscure Bram Stoker, who wrote only one masterpiece in his whole life, and it was this one!

 WRITING 9

Hi

My name’s Mònica Nogué and I live in South London, in England. I love the area where I live, so I want to improve it.
In my opinion, there isn’t anywhere for Young people to go and spend their time. There aren’t any facilities for them. As a result, young people spend all their time hanging around on the street. There are sometimes problems with vandalism and graffiti.
I think the council should do something about this and they should have a young café where they can organize parties or just have some fun.

THE TITANIC TRAGEDY

100 years after the Titanic tragedy, the world's most famous ship still fascinates us. This April, discover the legend in the new 3D version of James Cameron's film Titanic.

What was the Titanic?
The Titanic was the largest passenger ship in the world. It was built in 1912. It was like a  flouting town with passengers from all social classes.

Inside the titanic
The Titanic was a luxury ship. Rich passengers paid a lot of money for a decorated suite with elegant styles, but the poor people didn't have that luxury.

The Titanic Destination
The Titanic's first voyage was from Southampton, in England, to New York City, USA. The ship left on 10 April 1912... but never arrived at it destination

The tragedy
On 14 April, four days after leaving Southampton, the Titanic was in the North Atlantic. The sea was calm but visibility was low. At 11.40 pm, a lookout saw a large iceberg near the ship. 37 seconds later, the Titanic hit the iceberg and water entered the ship. At first the passengers didn't panic... two hours and 40 minutes later, at 2.20am, the Titanic sank...

Who died?
Of the 2,224 people on board, only 710 survived. Most survivors were women, children and the rich: 60% of first-class passengers survived. But only 42% of second-class and 25% of third-class passengers survived

Titanic Film
The wreck of Titanic was found in 1985, about 4 km under the sea. James Cameron made his 1997 film, Titanic, using real images of the wreck. It was the highest grossing film of all time until Avatar (2009). But this isn’t the only film of Titanic tragedy; there are eleven in total.  This big event has become very important; this is why there are a lot of films of it, in a lot of languages.

The last survivor
The last survivor of the Titanic died in 2009, aged 96. Her name was Millvina Dean and she was two months old when she was rescued from the ship.
