The world's Number One dj
French dance music was not a major export until David Guetta appeared. meet the superstar DJ who's making the world dance!

David Guetta always wanted to mix music. At age 13, the French teenager mixed his first albums at home, and at 14 he started organizing parties in his home. He thought: I want to be a DJ- I don't need to be good at Maths!" In 1984, at only age 17, David got a job as a DJ in a club in Paris. He soon got a reputation for being a good DJ with a talent for mixing music.

Early success

For David Guetta, the journey to international fame was slow. In 1996 he started to DJ in clubs on the Spanish island of Ibiza. Then he released com pilation albums of his club hits and started making his own records. His two albums Just a Little More Love (2002) and Pop Life (2007) were hits in Europe.

International Star
David had a difficulty getting fans in the USA, however. This changed when David produced the hit single " I Gotta Feeliing" by the black eyed peas in 2009. The same year, his own album, one love, was international hit too. Suddenly, everyone wanted to work with him!

Friends..
Today, David's club night in Ibiza is famous around the world. He goes there on his private jet and stays in his luxury villa: it's the sort of place you see in a James Bond film. That is because david is now a superstar DJ: he plays dance festivals to 80000fans, earns more than 3 million euros a year and makes albums featuring stars like Rihanna and Flo Rida.

...and enemies.

But David has critics too. Electronic music purists say that he is too commercial, that his music is too simple and that he has no talent. His club nights are criticized for being too elitist. His title "producer" is also ambiguous: it's not clear if he has financed a music project, written the music or just mixed it.

Confidence is everything
David Guetta doesn't agree with the critics: " Our sound is taking over the planet " he says. But he doesn't have to defend himself. David knows that he has created a sound that is instantly recongnizable. He is the first person to combine the roles of DJ, producer and solo artist so successfully. Nobody can "produce" successful modern pop like David Guetta can. That is why the Frenchman has the title of world's numer one DJ!.

Discography:
Just a Little More Love (2002)
Guetta Blaster (2004)
Pop Life (2007)
One Love (2009)
Nothing but the beat (2011).

" I gotta feeling"
This is a very common form of speech in pop music and colloquial language. The correct form of I gotta is " I have got". Other examples are I wanna which means " I want to" or i'm gonna which means "Im going to".

The geek who changed the world
Mark Zuckeberg created Facebook in 2004, aged 19. Today he is the second younges billionaire in the world.
Thanks to the success of Facebook, Mark Zuckeberg has a personal fortune of around 14 billion dolars. But the 27-year-old businessman has a very modest lifestyle. He wears jeans, T-shirts and trainers, works constantly and is studying Chinese.
ZUCKEBERG was a computer prodigy from a young age: his friends did illustrations which he transformed into computer games. he also showed a special talent for Latin, Ancient Greek and fencing.
HE LEFT NEW YORK  in 2002 to go to Harvard, an elite American university, to study psychology and computer science. He was shy and people thout he was a geek. He started to develop social network sites for fun.

ZUCKERBERG HACKED INTO Harvard's computer system on 20 October 2003. He copied private photos of university students to create a site called Facemash. On the site, students could see photos and vote for the people they found most attractive. The site had 450 visitors in four hours, but Harvard shut it down...and Mark Zuckerberg was almost expelled!

HE WAS NOT DISCOURAGED.
Zuckerberg understood the demand for a website to share personal information with friends. So in 2004, he launched Facebook from his university bedroom. Within 24 hours, 1200 Hardvard students had signed up. After one month, more than half of the student population at Harvard had  a Facebook profile.

FACEBOOK SOON ARRIVED at the other universities. Zuckerberg left harvard without graduating- he wanted to spend time developing his site. In just seven years, facebook changed the world.

WITH 800 MILLION USERS, facebook is now the biggest website on the planet. Zuckerberg wants to keep facebook users on the site for longer by sharing music, films and personal information in the Timeline.

ZUCKERBERG has had problems with his site. Three Harvard students accused him of copying their ideas to create Facebook, and won a lawsuit , against him in 2008. Zuckerberg, a private person, has also been criticized for Facebook's principales: making private information public...

THE YOUNG BILLIONAIRE doesn't care about this, though. He also says that he didn't just want to make money. "The thing I really care about  is the mission, making the world open", he says.

FACEBOOK FOR YOUR PHONE has helped Zuckerberg complete his mission... and made even omre money for his company. But like microsoft's bill gates, zuckerberg promises to give half of his money to charity. With everything he does, Mark Zuckerberg continues to change the world...
